Choice of sweaters

It's been four months of total freedom
and living off the grid
and living on the road
and lying next to you
feeling happiness
I'm riding home alone
it's time to go back to work
Sleeping in a tent
drinking iodine and river water
no cell phones, no computer
a scrambler motorcycle
with you on back I'm feeling my heart begin to cave in
Summer turns to fall
dropping you off it hurt
back to our lives
back to work
a scrambler motorcycle's not the same without you on it
I'm heading home broken hearted.

Messed up

Waking up and I can't remember anything
sleeping on a sidewalk in a place I've never been
and I'm all messed up, I'm a wreck, I'm drunk
and I'm all messed up, I'm a wreck, I'm a drunken mess

I brew some beer and grow bud in the back of my garden next to my crumbling house
it's been decades now since everyone left and I stayed behind
an occasional tourist is walking around
and I've seen a drone with a camera attached
and I hide inside till everyone's gone then I come back out
I spend my time getting high getting drunk
and watching the buildings falling apart
like me they'll crumble and turn into dust on Gunkanjima
I'm sick of fish but it's all that I got
an occasional rat I throw them in my pot
with the vegetables I grow, it's not a lot
but it's all I need
and I could never let her go
her body's buried in a field below
and the world has changed, yeah this I know
but I've stayed the same
I brew some beer and grow bud in the back of my garden next to my crumbling house
it's been decades now since everyone left and I stayed behind.
